No after-hours surcharge
Ever. The $72 diagnostic fee is the same at 2pm on a Tuesday and 2am on a Sunday. Evening, weekend, holiday, and emergency service all bill at the standard rate. We don't penalize you for the timing of a breakdown.
Flat-rate repair quotes
Written, before any wrench comes out. After the diagnostic, you see the total repair price including parts and labor. No hourly billing, no shop-time add-ons, no surprise charges on the invoice.
Manual J always included
$0, with every replacement estimate. Most contractors charge $300-$800 for a standalone load calculation. Tru72 includes it because we will not install equipment without one.
No upselling on repairs
You decide what gets done. The technician shows you what's wrong with real measurements, recommends what to fix, and prices each option. We don't push replacement on a fixable system.
Rebate paperwork on us
We file what we can file. ETO rebates filed at install. State and federal credits may apply documentation packet handed to you for your tax return. Manufacturer rebates submitted on your behalf when permitted.
Financing pre-qualification with soft credit

What's the Tru72 diagnostic fee?
The standard residential HVAC diagnostic fee is $72. It covers a real technician arriving with full instruments and giving you a written assessment of what's wrong, why, and what it costs to fix. If you proceed with the recommended repair, the $72 is credited toward the work. Mission Ready Plan members (first responders, teachers, military) pay $39.
Is there an after-hours surcharge?
No. The $72 diagnostic fee is the same at 2pm Tuesday and 2am Sunday. Tru72 does not charge a premium for evening, weekend, holiday, or emergency service.
Are replacement estimates free?
Yes. Replacement estimates are always free. The estimate includes a Manual J load calculation, equipment recommendation, install scope, total price, and applicable rebate calculations. The Manual J alone runs $300-$800 at most competitors; Tru72 includes it.
How does Tru72 quote repair work?
After the diagnostic, the technician provides a flat-rate quote for the recommended repair in writing before any work begins. The quote covers parts and labor. No hourly billing surprises, no shop-time add-ons, no upselling. You decide whether to proceed before the wrench comes out.
What does Tru Comfort Maintenance cost?
$12 per month or $144 per year (one month free on annual). Members get two seasonal diagnostics, 10% off repairs, 5% off new installs, priority service, and weekend and holiday service at no extra charge. Mission Ready Plan members get all Tru Comfort benefits free for life, plus an additional 5% discount and $39 diagnostic fee.
